Welcome to the new school year !!

This is the time of the year where we reminisce about the summertime and all those experiences that have shaped us in the past months. I have been to amazing Scotland during the summer and would like to share some of those experiences with you in the classroom. See you there soon! Tell us about what you did this summer!

Exámenes Certificación

Next week´s the big date! I´d like to wish all of you the best of luck for your tests on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. You have done an excellent work all throughtout this school year, I feel very proud of all of you!! Remember to get to your testing classrooms 15:45 the latest! Bring your ID, blue or black pen (no pencil, sorry) and bring some water or snacks, just in case. Good luck!

Tips for your June tests

St. patrick´s day

Ireland is a country every English student should visit at least once !  green pastures, rolling hills, warm people, celtic music, Guiness and great craic in the pubs!

St. Patrick´s day is celebrated today all around the world with parades in Ireland, America, Australia, you name it...

Take a look at this video by The Chieftains and enjoy the scenery and the music. For best effect, you should be drinking a Guiness while you see it!

Testing week

This is to wish all of you good luck in the tests you´ll be taking next week !

Remember Cindy will be available at her club all throughout the week for you to practice oral skills. Her schedule is posted on the bulletin board, opposite the teacher´s office. It´s always a good idea to warm up instead of  "jumping into" the speaking test.

Classes will resume to normal after the tests, that is, Monday 26th for 3A and Tuesday 27th. for 3B and 4. I´´ll see you in regular classes and in the tests.

It´s that time of the year again!  Valentine´s day is just  around the corner and you should probably start thinking about how to impress your significant other on such a special occasion.

A room without books is like a body without a soul

All of you have been reading book assignments for this school year which will help you improve your reading and writing skills. Those readings are abridged, that is, adapted to your grammar and vocabulary level.

One of my favorite books is ¨The Magus¨ written by an English author called John Fowles. It´s a marvellous tour-de-force filled with intertwined plots and many different characters. It´s the story of a teacher, no wonder why I like it !, who moves from London to a greek island to start a new life after a relationship break-up. Many things will happen to him  in that island but you never know if it´s fiction or reality. It´s a book you just can´t put down!

- Learn English (you guys already got this one)
- Quit smoking (Everybody´s trying, don´t be the last one)
- Start going to the gym (and keep going after January)
