All of you have been reading book assignments for this school year which will help you improve your reading and writing skills. Those readings are abridged, that is, adapted to your grammar and vocabulary level.
One of my favorite books is ¨The Magus¨ written by an English author called John Fowles. It´s a marvellous tour-de-force filled with intertwined plots and many different characters. It´s the story of a teacher, no wonder why I like it !, who moves from London to a greek island to start a new life after a relationship break-up. Many things will happen to him in that island but you never know if it´s fiction or reality. It´s a book you just can´t put down!
Which is your all time favorite book? Can you tell us about it?

I have many favorites books, perhaps bacause along my life my favorites books has gone changing with me, i rememeber my first favorite book when i was a child was " los muchachos de la calle pal", after i loved the books about " los 5 " by Enyd Blyton, when i was a teenager i devored Agatha Cristie novels. Nowdays i have enjoyed reading the "Millenium trilogie", and "la sombra del viento" by Carlos Ruiz Zafón, i like very much too "Tokio Blues" by H . murakami, but my all time favorite book is " The Godfather" by M. puzzo
ReplyDeleteWhen anybody talks about books my mom comes to my mind. She loves reading and she thought us (my brothers and me) to love it, even my older daughter read at the same time she does. Speaking about books I have a lot of favourite books: "Sinuhe el egipcio" by Mika Valtari, "El falso Mahdi" by A. J. Quinnell, "Rebelion en la Granja" by George Orwell, "Novelas ejemplares" by Quevedo, "Papillon" by Henri Charrière, "La dama del Nilo" by Pauline Gedge... and whatever book which talks about ancient history (Egypt, Templars, Greece, China...) I had a go to read "Rayuela" twice and I gave it up two pages after... Each time in live has a book, so that I can't just pick one.
ReplyDeleteSorry, "Novelas ejemplares" by Miguel de Cervantes.
